Geoffrey's Malibu is a renovation of a landmark restaurant that was originally built as a hotel for the Hollywood elite in 1948. Later converted to a restaurant, the site contains a Richard Neutra-designed structure. The client brief calls for the existing structure to be used year-round. In response, the project proposes eighty linear feet of operable glass stitched into the existing structural system while maintaining a degree of sensitive indifference to the historically significant context. |
