Andrew Holder joined the LADG as a Principal in 2007. Mr. Holder brings to the Firm a research interest in digital design and form-active structures, as well as a breadth of experience working with Los Angeles-based architecture firms including Servo, Gnuform, and Fievre & Jones. Prior to working in the field of architecture, he spent several years in the real estate finance and business development fields, including a stint as Director of Special Projects for Homestead Capital, an Oregon-based multi-family housing firm with more than $500 million in assets under management. Mr. Holder also maintains an active career in academia and has recently taught at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), The Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc), and Otis College of Art and Design. Mr. Holder received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of California, Los Angeles with distinction in 2005 and graduated summa cum laude from Lewis and Clark College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is the recipient of a Truman Fellowship, the Barbara Hirschi-Neely Fellowship, and the AIA certificate.
Claus Benjamin Freyinger is the founding member and Principal of the LADG. Mr. Freyinger brings to the firm expertise in digitally-driven design and fabrication of custom building components as well as domestic and international architectural experience working for Mones and Partner, Architects in Munich, Germany and Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects and Planners in New York. Prior to working in the field of architecture, he gained curatorial experience working for the Solomon R Guggenheim Foundation Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy. In addition, he spent time working in corporate real estate in the Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) branch of United Properties, a Minneapolis-based full service development firm. Mr. Freyinger received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2005, graduated cum laude from Boston College in 2000 with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Art History, and studied at Ludwig Maximilian’s University in Munich, Germany in support of an Associates Degree in Studio Art. He is a native speaker of both English and German and is proficient in Spanish and Italian.
Noah Rubin joined the LADG as a Project Manager in 2007. He brings to the firm interest and expertise in the implementation of digital design on the built environment. Prior to joining the LADG, he worked on large commercial and educational projects at Fox & Fowle Architects in New York, and worked on residential and tenant improvement jobs at Fievre Jones in Los Angeles. Mr. Rubin’s experience in the production of construction documents and in construction administration is a critical component to the execution of built work at the LADG. Mr. Rubin received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of California, Los Angeles with distinction in 2007 and graduated summa cum laude from Connecticut College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Architectural Studies. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the National Honors Society of the Liberal Arts, and Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honors Society for Political Science. He is also the recipient of the Louise B. Holborne Prize and the Moore Fellowship.
Shanta Pandit is a licensed architect and consulting member at The LADG. She brings to the practice extensive experience in high-end residential design and project management, along with an expertise in landscape and garden design. She studied at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 1998. While enrolled, she was selected to participate in the year-long Washington Alexandria Architecture Consortium in Virginia. She subsequently traveled to Sienna, Italy to conduct research for her thesis. From 1998 to 2006, she worked as a project manager at Tichenor and Thorp Architects in Beverly Hills, where she was responsible for design and construction documents, permitting and construction administration for a number of multi-million dollar residential projects around Southern and Northern California. In 2006, she formed Topa Architecture with partner Ramiro Torres. Actively practicing in the Bay area and Los Angeles, Topa Architecture has completed a wide range of commercial, residential, and landscape projects.
Courtenay Bauer holds a Masters in Architecture from Pratt Institute in New York where she was the recipient of the Final Project Design Excellence award. She completed her undergraduate work in Architecture at the Catholic University of America (Washington DC) where she was inducted into the Tau Sigma Delta architectural honor society. Prior to her work in Los Angeles, Courtenay worked with firms in Florida, Maryland, Delaware, and New York on projects ranging in scale from modest residential additions to commercial high-rises. Arriving in LA with the aim of furthering her interests in computational design, complex geometry and its construction, Courtenay has collaborated on number of local projects aligned with these ambitions. She is actively involved in academics, teaching at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), The Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc), and University of Southern California (USC).
